Connecting to Holden/Pencey

Soooo...i really don't know exactly why Holden is getting kicked out of Pencey but i'm guessing it's mostly b/c of his grades. There might be something that is causing him to get bad grades but it might be just a lack of motavation. At our school there are sooooo many people who are plenty smart but don't apply themselves=( i just think its sad that these kids, including Holden, could be great people and have successful lives but don't choose to persue them. This helps me understand Holden b/c i know that he could be successful but something is holding him back. =(

    thats a good connection, I totally agree with you. I was thinking about Holden connections more personal to me, instead of a group, that's great. =)

    in a sense i can agree with you claire. i know people who lack motivation and holden would definately apply to tht.

    totally agree with claire. people don't even try when it comes to grades and school. they'll probablly regret it later in life when they're stuck working some place they don't want to. or in jail...

    I agree. That's practically half of our school. Some people could get good grades and be successful but they're so lazy they never will be.

    I definatly agree. I think that there are so many kids at our school that dont apply themselfs and that they dont realize that their future is at stake. Its really important to try and I definatly think that not everyone tries to do their best at succeding in life

    Good post, good connection, nice responses from your peers. And, I too agree with the lack of living up to potential of students. That is a classic situation when dealing with HS kids, hind sight. So many grads will come up after the graduate and say things like "Mr.T I should have listened and tried more" cause they are struggling now. Good stuff Claire! also, so relieved that your fish are ok bc it was only 6 degrees today and I was worried they would freeze! PHEW!!
